Do you believe the stars are forever
That they’ll always shine at night
Will they always have that magic
That inspires so many to write
Do you believe that they were put there
Just for us to see
Or are they the universe’s forrest
And does it need them to breathe
Is the blackness of the cosmos
Like the ocean where I stand
The warmth beneath my feet
As I feel the tide coming in
Are the planets just like islands
Forgotten out at sea
Just waiting for a courageous few
To explore its mystical being
I dream about the darkness
Though I may be filled with light
To be apart of that voyage
To see the wonders of the cosmos
Other than at night

This is beautiful. I also feel this longing to be part of something magical, mystical, bigger than me, mysterious, different. You’ve encapsulated that longing feeling so well here.
